Facial oils for a great complexion

great oils for perfect skin and anti-aging qualities

Facial oils for a great complexion! There is a common misconception that applying oils to your face will create blocked pores and skin eruptions. That may occur with petroleum based products containing mineral oil or paraffin waxes, but you won't find this with natural specialty carrier oils.

On the 'make a lotion' page there are directions to making your own natural lotion for face and body. On this page are links to each of these special oils that you can incorporate into a lotion or any other homemade skin care product.

Each of the facial oils for a great complexion have it's own unique and special qualities, including specific vitamins, antioxidants, sun blocking abilities, moisturizing qualities, rejuvenation properties, trace minerals, absorb-ability and omega essential fatty acids. Each oil has differing price as well. When making your lotion or bath and body products, consider using a lesser expensive carrier oil for the major portion of your oils and adding a smaller portion of the more expensive oil.

Here are some of the basics to the caring of skin,in addition to applying facial oils for a great complexion:

  • Sun protection of the face is important, especially in summer
  • Do not smoke, it increases facial lines and wrinkles, delays skin healingExercise is good for the skin, increasing circulation and oxygenation, as well as your health in general
  • Sunscreens should be applied daily to the face, especially outdoors
  • Cover up when outside – sunscreens may protect against UVB but yet less effective against longer wavelengths
  • Moisturisers do help, by adding hydration and preventing dehydration at the skin level
  • eat healthy, fruit and vegetables provide natural antioxidants.

Perhaps treatments to rejuvenate photo-aged skin. Consult a dermatologist or plastic surgeon for expert advice. Some of these include:

  • Alpha-hydroxy acids, vitamin-C, lipoic acid or retinoid creams applied long term may reduce the number of fine wrinkles and fade blotchy pigmentation. In postmenopausal women a cream containing progesterone may improve skin elasticity and firmness
  • Collagen, hyaluronic acid, polytetrafluoroethylene implants and fat grafts can disguise facial expression lines
  • Botulinum toxin, aka Botox, injections are used to reduce frowning and lessen deep furrows
  • Resurfacing procedures such as dermabrasion, chemical peels, fractional laser treatment and laser resurfacing remove the top layer of damaged skin, which is replaced by new healthy cells
  • Vascular laser treatment can reduce facial veins and angiomas
  • Cosmetic surgery is required to remove sagging skin, such as a blepharoplasty for baggy eyelids and a face lift to tighten the jowls.
